Atlanta’s season ended on October 7, as the Dodgers dispatched the Braves in four games during the 2026 NLDS. The club’s first post-2026 move since that elimination was made on the 9th, as reliever Danny Young was added back to the 40-man roster.

Braves shuffle 40-man roster

The Braves selected pitcher Danny Young from Triple-A Gwinnett. That move ensures that the club won’t lose Young to Minor League free agency and will keep him on the 40-man roster heading into the offseason.

Atlanta signed Young to a one-year deal back in December 2025, when the left-hander was recovering from UCL reconstruction surgery. He started the year on the IL and wound up making 16 appearances with the big club in 2026.

The numbers weren’t exactly pretty, as Young walked 13 and allowed three home runs over 12.1 IP. However, he does have a reputation for being deceptive, and the Braves will bet on that for now.

Young’s numbers were much better in the Minors, even though the lefty walked 10 over 13 innings. The 32-year-old struck out 14 and limited opposing hitters to a .122 batting average.

Infielder Luke Williams was designated for assignment as a corresponding move.
