2026 Transactions: Yankees Recall Hanner, Brewers Re-Sign Wilson

After seven years in the Minors, Bradley Hanner is poised to make his Major League debut. The 27-year-old was recalled by the Yankees on August 11, one of several notable moves made on the day. Aside from that, Michael Toglia is back in the Majors, while Bryse Wilson re-signed with Milwaukee.

Wilson back with Brewers

That was fast.

The Brewers re-signed Bryse Wilson to a Major League deal, just three days after the club designated him for assignment. Wilson pitched in six games with the club before he was cut.

Hanner up with Yankees

The Yankees promoted Bradley Hanner from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

New York telegraphed in July that Hanner was going to receive a promotion at some point, as the club added him to the 40-man roster. At the time, the 6’4” righty was having a great season in Triple-A — and he continued that up until his promotion. As of August 11, the 27-year-old struck out 61 batters and allowed just two home runs over 51 innings.

As noted back in July, a mid-90s fastball and high swing-and-miss sweeper are in his arsenal.

Recalls & options

Graham Pauley (Marlins), Chase Lee (Blue Jays), and Alex McFarlane (Phillies) were recalled from the Minors.

Zach McCambley (Reds), Jake Meyers (Marlins), and Alan Rangel (Phillies) were optioned to Triple-A.

Other notes

Jarred Kelenic (Rangers), Michael Toglia (Reds), and Tanner Rainey (Tigers) were selected from the Minors.

Drew Rom was claimed off waivers by the Athletics from the Brewers.

Jonah Bride (Rangers) and Lyon Richardson (Brewers) were designated for assignment.
