The college basketball season is deep into conference play, but there are still several weeks left before conference tournaments begin in early March.
One coach didn't make it out of January before being fired.
Per a statement by Stephen F. Austin, the program is parting ways with head coach Kyle Keller on Wednesday after an 8-11 start to the season. The Lumberjacks lost three games in a row.
"Stephen F. Austin State University announced today that men's basketball head coach Kyle Keller has been relieved of his duties effective immediately," the statement reads. "The decision to make a change in leadership comes after a disappointing 1-7 start to Southland Conference play, and an 8-11 overall record for the season.

"The program's last conference championship came in 2022, and the last NCAA tournament appearance was in 2018."
SFA promoted associate head coach Tony Jasick to the role of interim head coach for the remainder of the season.
SFA athletic director Michael McBroom thanked Keller for his work with the program.
"We want to thank Kyle for his positive contributions and leadership over the past nine seasons, including memorable and iconic wins at some of the most hallowed sites in college basketball that will forever be etched in SFA history," McBroom said. "We wish him well in his future opportunities."
Keller took over as head coach of SFA in 2016. He finished his tenure in Nacogdoches, Texas, with a 163-84 record and a 97-42 record in conference play.
Keller's Lumberjacks made the 2018 NCAA Tournament after posting a 28-7 regular season record.
