
Though Brian Snitker won’t be managing the Atlanta Braves in 2026, the division won’t be without a Snitker presence. Brian is expected to stay involved with the organization in an advisory role, while his son, Troy Snitker, has officially been named the new hitting coach for the New York Mets.
Per @martinonyc, the Mets are hiring Troy Snitker as their next hitting coach.

Troy spent 2019–2025 as the hitting coach for the Astros, helping Houston capture a World Series title in 2022. He was dismissed after this past season and now joins a Mets organization loaded with talent that finished ninth in runs scored this year.
The Braves and Mets already have one of the league’s best rivalries, but their matchups are starting to feel like family reunions. Luisangel Acuña is the brother of Ronald Acuña Jr. , and now both Brian and Troy Snitker find themselves on opposite sides of the rivalry — even if Brian will no longer be in the Braves’ dugout.
