Carson Kelly was hit in the right forearm by a Gregory Santos pitch in the 4th inning in the Diamondbacks' 7-3 win over the Chicago White Sox. The D-backs starting catcher would run the bases, but left the game immediately after the conclusion of the inning. Kelly told the Arizona Republic's Nick Piecoro his concern is "not minimal" as he awaits further tests and imaging to determine the severity of the injury.

Bryce Jarvis filled in for the D-backs while they sort out their starting rotation and held his own. Fresh from minor league camp, the D-backs No. 15 prospect allowed three runs on five hits, no walks, and five strikeouts in 4.2 innings. All three runs came on a Hanser Alberto home run in the fourth inning. Jarvis is listed as a potential breakout candidate amongst the team's top prospects after working to improve his delivery.

Kyle Nelson, Luis Frias, and Carlos Vargas, combined to pitch the final 4.1 innings. Nelson struck out Andrew Benintendi to end the fifth and induced an inning-ending double play in the sixth. Luis Frias allowed three singles, but recorded five outs and struck out two. Carlos Vargas retired the side in order in the ninth, including a strikeout of Erik Gonzalez.

Corbin Carroll continued his tear this spring, collecting two hits, a walk, and a stolen base. He roped the first pitch of the game off the center field wall for a double then hit a two-run single in the second.

The D-backs will take on the Los Angeles Angels at Salt River Fields tomorrow. Zach Davies takes the mound for Arizona, with first pitch at 1:10PM MST.
