The Los Angeles Angels are 55-59 and currently five games out of a Wild Card spot, on the outside looking in as they search for their first playoff appearance since 2014.
Despite a decade-long drought, the biggest bright spot in Angels history has been superstar outfielder Mike Trout.
The 33-year-old veteran has carried Los Angeles through his entire 15-year career since his AL Rookie of the Year debut season in 2012.
Trout has experienced a slight drop-off in play this year, but a dip for the three-time MVP still amounts to a productive season. He’s batting .237 with an .823 OPS, 19 home runs, and 47 RBIs over 86 games—all while battling a knee injury.
During Wednesday’s series finale against the Tampa Bay Rays, Trout etched his name into the MLB record books, adding to his Hall-of-Fame caliber career.
The Angels announced, “Mike Trout has hit his 398th career home run and his 200th at Angel Stadium. He is the first player in Major League history to have 200+ HR and 100+ SB at any one ballpark.”

Trout’s professional journey began when he was selected 25th overall by the Angels in the 2009 MLB Draft. His latest feat is a testament to his rare blend of elite speed and power over a decade-plus of dominating opposing pitching.
Trout’s ability to reach this milestone at just 33 years old speaks to the historic career he’s already accomplished.
Trout’s consistency, longevity, and dominance at Angel Stadium make this latest achievement not just a statistical anomaly, but a reflection of one of the most complete careers in modern baseball.
