Angels’ Mike Trout Makes Off-Field Decision

Mike Trout has spent his career building one of baseball’s most decorated resumes as the face of the Los Angeles Angels. The 34-year-old is a 2012 AL Rookie of the Year award winner, a three-time AL MVP, a nine-time Silver Slugger and an 11-time All-Star.

Trout has had a great start so far in 2026, reminiscent of his MVP seasons. Through 32 games, the 34-year-old is slashing .248/.426/.558 with a .983 OPS, 10 home runs and 21 RBIs. Trout leads the team with 30 runs, 10 homers, 32 walks, .426 OBP, .558 Slugging and .983 OPS.

Even though Trout plays in a market where the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers call home, Trout has kept his NFL loyalty to the Philadelphia Eagles. He has attended Eagles games during the offseason, posted the team on his social media and made no effort to hide his fandom.

Now, it is official.

Topps announced on Instagram Friday that Trout has signed his first official Eagles trading card. “Fly Eagles Fly,” the company opened the post, calling the Angels star a “die-hard Birds fan.” The card is set to appear in Topps “Finest Football” in a future release.

With Trout growing up less than an hour from the Eagles' stadium in Millville, New Jersey, his fandom runs deeper than any bandwagon. Philadelphia captured Super Bowl LIX in February 2025, defeating the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22, but Trout's loyalty predates that championship run by more than a decade.

Back on the diamond, Trout will be looking to help lead the Angels to their first postseason appearance since 2014 by building on his strong start to the season.
