Jazz Chisholm Jr. delivered an excellent 2025 campaign in his first full season with the New York Yankees. The two-time All-Star, therefore, set extremely lofty personal targets for himself at the start of the 2026 season. However, Chisholm is struggling with the bat this year, even though he remains an effective tool for the Yankees with his defense and speed.

The New York Yankees hosted the Cleveland Guardians on Monday evening for the opener of their three-game series on Tuesday. Guardian’s radio broadcaster John Hamilton fired a couple of sarcastic jibes at Jazz Chisholm Jr. on air during the game. The legendary announcer made light of the Yankees’ infielder appearing on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ this week.

“Well, he predicted the Yankees will win the World Series. He did that last night on the Jimmy Fallon Show,” Hamilton stated in his typically cool tone right before Chisholm came up for his first plate appearance of the game in the second inning.

“Pretty amazing he got on the Jimmy Fallon Show batting .239,” Hamilton added.

Chisholm ended the month of May on a .239/.314/.385 slash line, hitting just six home runs and a 96 OPS+. He only has 0.5 bWAR for the Yankees so far with 14 stolen bases and 20 RBIs.

“Let me use your pants today. I can’t find the pants I’m looking for,” Chisholm recalled about his conversation with Stanton on ‘The Tonight Show’. “It was at the last second.”
