Bill Evers, the former Durham Bulls skipper that lead the club to two back-to-back championships three seasons ago with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays' AAA franchise, the Durham Bulls, was promoted to the bench in Tampa to help work with some of the more cantankerous new phenoms like Delmon Young and BJ Upton. Evers was cut from the coaching staff this week by pal and D-Rays skipper Joe Maddon, for not being on the same page. Given what Maddon has done with some of the top talent in the Minors, and the D-Rays pitiful lack of post-season performance with so many number-one ranked players, perhaps he should have listened to Evers. Bill Evers is, arguably, one of the top three coaches in the farm system game. MLN Sports has an exclusive on his possible future in the "Behind the Cage" section of MLN Sports Zone (SZ).
