Blake Snell Reveals Honest Reaction to First Dodgers Start in Opening Day Win

Thursday officially marked Opening Day of the MLB season, and 28 of the 30 teams in the league were in action. The reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers raised their World Series banner and played their first home game of the season against the Detroit Tigers.

Blake Snell got the start for Los Angeles, his first game on the mound in a Dodgers uniform. Snell earned the win, going five innings, allowing five hits, two runs, four walks, and striking out two.

It won't be his best start of the season, but it was good enough to get his first winning decision as a Dodger.

After the game, Snell spoke to the media about pitching at Dodger Stadium as part of the team and not an opponent.

I loved it. I'm excited for more of it. Especially when I get better & better. It was cool just feeling the energy and how much the fans love the team. How much they showed loved to me that was pretty cool.

After previously spending time with both the San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres, one would have to think that Snell feels a bit of relief about finally being on the good side of the cheers and energy in the stadium and not being the starting pitcher who gets relentlessly booed throughout the game.

Snell could easily benefit from a high-powered Dodgers offense and pitch his way to a third Cy Young Award at the end of the season. If that is the case, he will continue to receive love and passion from the Dodgers fans.
