The Toronto Blue Jays activated outfielder George Springer from the seven-day concussion list on Saturday.

Springer has missed 16 games since getting hit in the head with a pitch in a July 28 loss at Baltimore. He played in two rehab games at Triple-A Buffalo, going 2-for-5 with a double and a homer.

Springer, 35, is batting .291 with 18 homers and 57 RBIs in 101 games this season -- the four-time All-Star's finest showing as a hitter since 2022.

He is a lifetime .264 hitter with 279 home runs and 769 RBIs in 1,406 games with the Houston Astros (2014-20) and Blue Jays.

Toronto optioned outfielder Joey Loperfido, 26, to Buffalo in a corresponding move. He is batting .358 with a .915 OPS, three homers and 10 RBIs in 30 games with the Blue Jays this season.
