Blue Jays Announce Vladimir Guerrero Jr. News Before Cardinals Game

The Toronto Blue Jays are set to face off against the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday night. The Blue Jays will look to stay hot in this one, as they have won five out of their last six games. This includes a 5-4 victory over the Cardinals on Monday in their last game.

Ahead of their latest matchup against the Cardinals, the Blue Jays made an announcement regarding their top superstar. The Blue Jays shared that slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will not be in the lineup against St. Louis.

It is always significant when Guerrero Jr. is not in the lineup for the Blue Jays, as he is their top player. However, it is also important for players to get their rest days, and Guerrero Jr. has not had one since the middle of April. Therefore, this day off was long overdue for the four-time All-Star.

Guerrero Jr. has appeared in 66 games this season with the Blue Jays thus far, where he has eight home runs, 29 RBIs, and a .275 batting average. This is after he posted 30 home runs, 103 RBIs, and a .323 batting average in 159 games this past season with the Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays will now need to adjust without Guerrero Jr. in the lineup against the Cardinals. It will be fascinating to see if Toronto can pick up another win from here.
