The Toronto Blue Jays are heading to the World Series, as the club came back from an 0-2 defecit early on in the series to beat the Seattle Mariners in Game 7 at the Rogers Centre. It was a back and forth battle between the two American League clubs, and one of the main reasons the Jays did so well this series (and the postseason) is because of their star first baseman, Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
For his efforts, Guerrero has earned the 2025 ALCS MVP Award.
The Montreal born slugger was a huge part of the team’s success this series, collecting 10 hits and three home runs in the seven game series. While he went hitless in the first two games at the Rogers Centre, Guerrero turned things up a notch when they landed on the West Coast, going 4 for 4 at the plate in Game 3 before adding two more hits the following day, which included the second home run of the series.

The five time All-Star would add another home run in Game 6 at the Rogers Centre, belting a solo shot over the left field wall to make it a 5-0 game for the home team.
On the field, Guerrero has also been a force at first base. He has made numerous plays to keep the ball in front of him for the out and turned a crucial double play in Game 6 as well to help get the Jays pitching staff out of a jam.
For the postseason, Guerrero has collected 19 hits and posted a .442/.510/.930 slash line with a 1.440 OPS. He’s walked six times compared to three strikeouts and has tied the Blue Jays franchise record with Jose Bautista and Joe Carter for the most home runs in the postseason with his six blasts this October.
