Braves announce Carlos Carrasco roster decision

The Atlanta Braves have been rolling of late in the 2026 MLB season, currently sitting at 21-9 ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Detroit Tigers. The Braves’ pitching staff has performed well above expectations this year after receiving much skepticism coming into the season given their volume of injuries.

Recently, the team announced a big update regarding a couple of members of their bullpen.

“The #Braves today reinstated LHP Dylan Lee from the paternity list and designated RHP Carlos Carrasco for assignment,” reported the Braves on X, formerly Twitter.

Lee has been a reliable reliever for the Braves over the years, and ended up missing a game due to paternity leave. Meanwhile, Carrasco appeared in one game for the Braves, a win over the Washington Nationals last week, pitching one inning and recording a strikeout without giving up any runs.

Overall, the Braves are still waiting on good news for some of their starting pitchers, including both Spencer Schwellenbach and Spencer Strider, each of whom got tough injury updates shortly before the regular season began. The expectation was that without those two, the Braves’ pitching staff would struggle to stay above water, but thus far, that has not been the case, as Atlanta’s starting rotation has been among the most productive in the MLB so far this season.

Meanwhile, Atlanta’s offense has stayed hot throughout the year, getting production from some unsung heroes as Ronald Acuna Jr. and others have taken a while to find their footing, allowing them to build a massive lead in the NL East at this early juncture of the season.

All of this has allowed the Braves to remain the only team in the league to have not lost a series in 2026.
