The Atlanta Braves have gotten off to a solid start to the 2026 MLB season, currently sitting in first place in the NL East at 10-7 despite a loss to the Miami Marlins on Monday evening. The Braves have already dealt with their fair share of injuries this season, with multiple starting pitchers out of the rotation to open up the year.
Recently, the team announced a series of roster transactions they had made, including one regarding injured catcher Sean Murphy.
“The #Braves today recalled LHP Hayden Harris to Atlanta after optioning RHP Rolddy Muñoz to Triple-A Gwinnett following last night’s game. Additionally, C Sean Murphy tonight begins a rehabilitation assignment with High-A Rome,” announced the Braves on X, formerly Twitter.
Murphy underwent hip surgery this offseason and was known to be out for the beginning of the year. He joins Spencer Schwellenbach, Spencer Strider, and others on the injured list to open up the season, although it’s good to see that he is beginning his rehab assignments in the minor leagues.
Meanwhile, the Braves as a whole have done a nice job of holding down the fort so far this year. Atlanta is currently the only team in the MLB to have won every series they’ve played in thus far. Although the bats have been somewhat inconsistent in 2025, seeming to either be red hot or ice cold, the Braves’ patched-together pitching staff has blown away expectations thus far, and figures to only improve as some of its key players return from injury.
In any case, the Braves will continue their series against the Marlins on Tuesday evening at 7:15 pm ET.
