Atlanta Braves center fielder Michael Harris is having a special season. Entering this year, the 25-year-old had real questions about whether he could hit at the same level he displayed during his Rookie of the Year campaign back in 2022.
His defense in center field has never been a question, yet the bat was after a disastrous offensive season in 2025.
He has put all those doubts to rest this year. Across 89 games, Harris has posted a .296 batting average, .329 on-base percentage, 16 home runs and 53 RBIs, doing all of it while battling multiple minor injuries, which makes it all the more impressive.
Harris is currently in Philadelphia during the All-Star break after being selected as a reserve for the National League team, the first All-Star selection of his career.
As Harris celebrates the moment, he also took time Tuesday before the game to make an announcement that is deeply personal to him.
Harris is the founder of the Catch 23 Foundation, an Atlanta-based nonprofit that supports underprivileged youth. Harris has a personal connection to the cause, having spent his entire life in Atlanta, living there even before the Braves drafted him.
He revealed Tuesday that he will be hosting a Charity Golf Tournament on August 3, 2026. "Would love for you to join the Catch 23 Family⛳️," Harris wrote on X.

Harris also shared additional details about the event, including sponsorship levels, a schedule for the day and the location at The Golf Club of Georgia.
Harris will have the whole day to focus on the event, as the Braves do not play that day. Afterward, he will get right back to business on the field as he looks to continue helping the Braves maintain first place in the National League East.
