With an hour to the trade deadline, the Braves are selling! As Jeff Passan reports they have dealt Joey Bart to the White Sox.

Jon Heyman adds the Braves are getting back Duncan Davitt in return.

In all seriousness, this is good news for the Braves because it means Sean Murphy is set to return to Atlanta. The veteran catcher has appeared in only four games this season due to multiple injuries — the latest being a fractured middle finger that’s kept him out for more than two months. It’s been a rough go of it for Murphy over the last several seasons, but he still offers a lot behind the plate defensively, and there remains potential upside in the bat if he can find a rhythm.

In his last five games for the Gwinnett Stripers, Murphy has eight hits, including three multi-hit games.

The return isn’t much. Duncan Davitt has appeared in two games for the White Sox this season, pitching to a 4.50 ERA. Unfortunately, his numbers in Triple-A aren’t much more encouraging — a 6.22 ERA over 59.1 innings — so we’ll see if he ever makes much of an impact with the Braves.
