Brice Turang is one of the biggest reasons the Milwaukee Brewers hold a comfortable lead in the National League Central, and he's finally nearing a return to the lineup after missing the entire four-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Turang, who is batting .268 with a .360 on-base percentage and an .810 OPS with 16 home runs and 76 RBIs this season, was out of the lineup with a sore right knee. He was scratched ahead of last Thursday's opener against the Dodgers, with David Hamilton sliding in at second base in his place.
Manager Pat Murphy said Turang is now lined up to return to the lineup Tuesday, a promising sign that Turang's injury has improved enough to return to game action.
Getting Turang back matters even more as the club has been dealing with a chunk of injuries to their infield, with rookie Cooper Pratt still out at shortstop. Milwaukee has since signed Ji-Hwan Bae for depth in the meantime to stabilize the infield that's been shorthanded for a while.
Besides Turang, Sal Frelick may also be joining the club soon. Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported on X that the Brewers manager indicated Frelick is a possibility to rejoin the club. However, the team hasn't made that call yet.

If both return this week, the Brewers add real depth to a roster that has already built a nice cushion in the National League Central with a 77-48 record heading into the last six weeks of the season.
