Two games down and the Milwaukee Brewers remain winless in the 2025 National League Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Milwaukee dropped Game 1, 2-1, on Monday and Game 2, 5-1, on Tuesday. The offense has really struggled for the Brewers, as the reigning World Series champions continue to show why they are the favorite to win it all again.
Nevertheless, it’s not yet over for Milwaukee, which will have some time to reassess the situation, with a break this Wednesday before playing the Dodgers in LA.
Sure, Milwaukee has its back pressed hard against the wall after failing to win a game at home before Game 3. But Murphy is not one to push the panic button just yet. Murphy is keeping his hope very much alive that his team will be able to turn things around in this best-of-seven series.
“You guys might have counted us out…this team has been counted out. It has fight left in them,” Murphy said after Game 2, per Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
“I don’t think it’s over. I don’t know why. I admire this team. I’ve said it all along. I like who they are…and I don’t think they’ll be surprised if they come back and play really well,” Murphy also said in the postgame press conference (h/t Hunter Baumgardt of Drew and KB).
The Brewers will try to trim the series deficit in half on Thursday, as Los Angeles takes its turn to host Milwaukee at Dodger Stadium.
