Cardinals not overly concerned after Nolan Arenado exits win over Brewers with back tightness?

St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado was removed from Wednesday's 10-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers with lower back tightness and did not return.

However, Cards manager Mike Schildt didn't seem overly concerned with the situation while speaking with reporters after the win, saying he removed Arenado as a precaution.

"It tightened up on him a little bit, and just wanted to get him out of there as a precaution," Schildt said, according to ESPN. "There's always some concern, but it felt better at the end of the game than it did when he got taken out."

Arenado was removed after making a highlight-reel, over-the-shoulder catch in the fifth inning. He was 2-for-2 before exiting.

The 30-year-old is in his first season with the Cardinals after coming over in a trade from the Colorado Rockies. He's hitting .258/.313/.503 with 33 home runs and 103 RBI in 147 games.

Arenado also earned an All-Star selection this season, the sixth of his career, and is hoping to win his ninth straight Gold Glove. He has won a Gold Glove in each of his nine MLB seasons.

The Cards are second in the NL Central with an 82-69 record, 8.5 games behind the first-place Brewers. St. Louis owns the second NL wild-card spot, 4.5 games ahead of the Cincinnati Reds.

If Arenado misses any time, it will be unfortunate for the Cardinals. Matt Carpenter, Edmundo Sosa and Jose Rondon would have to step up at third in his absence.
