Chicago White Sox Acquire Aaron Civale from Milwaukee Brewers

The Chicago White Sox are set to start a series with the Texas Rangers tonight in Arlington, TX. This morning, reports have broken that they are acquiring right-handed pitcher Aaron Civale from the Milwaukee Brewers. Civale reportedly had requested a trade from the Brewers yesterday. The Brewers are receiving Andrew Vaughn in return from Chicago.

Aaron Civale

Civale this season in five starts is 1-2 with a 4.91 ERA, a 1.36 WHIP, and 19 strikeouts in 22 innings. The Brewers acquired Civale last season from the Tampa Bay Rays. He made 14 starts for Milwaukee, going 6-3 with a 3.53 ERA, a 1.22 WHIP, and 65 strikeouts in 74 innings. Civale has made 122 career starts, going 40-37 with a 4.06 ERA, a 1.21 WHIP, and 596 strikeouts in 658.1 innings.

Andrew Vaughn

Vaughn, this season in 48 games, is hitting .189 with a .531 OPS. He has eight doubles, five home runs, 19 RBI, nine runs scored, and seven walks. Vuaghn has played in 610 career games, all for the White Sox. He’s a .248 career hitter with a .709 OPS. He has 118 doubles, four triples, 77 home runs, 293 RBI, 247 runs scored, three stolen bases, and 153 walks.
