The Chicago White Sox will play a doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals after last night’s game was rained out. The White Sox will have Sean Burke in game one, facing Erick Fedde. In game two, Mike Vasil will face Michael McGreevy for the Cardinals. Ahead of today’s game, they made quite a few roster moves. They placed right-handed pitcher Adrian Houser on the paternity list. They recalled right-handed pitcher Owen White and left-handed pitcher Tyler Gilbert. One will replace Houser and the other in the 27th roster spot, with today being a doubleheader.

Houser, in five starts this season with the White Sox, is 2-2 with a 2.15 ERA, a 3.47 FIP, a 1.19 WHIP, and 22 strikeouts in 29.1 innings. The White Sox signed him as a free agent on May 20th after the Texas Rangers released him on May 15th. He made nine appearances, with eight of those coming as starts with the Rangers’ Triple-A affiliate. Adrian Houser went 2-2 with a 5.03 ERA, a 1.14 WHIP, and 37 strikeouts in 39.1 innings.
White has appeared in one game for the White Sox this season, going 4.1 innings, giving up three runs on seven hits. He walked two and struck out five. In nine starts at Triple-A Charlotte, he went 0-5 with a 5.24 ERA, a 1.52 WHIP, and 36 strikeouts in 44.2 innings.
Gilbert in 14 games this season with three of those coming as starts is 1-1. He posts a 4.20 ERA, a 3.93 FIP, a 1.07 WHIP, and 17 strikeouts in 15 innings. In five games at Triple-A Charlotte, he posted a 6.35 ERA, a 1.59 WHIP, and seven strikeouts in 5.2 innings.
