The Los Angeles Angels are starting to become a team that fans of the Tennessee Vols will have a great deal of interesting in following.

That was projected to be even more the case before the 2025 MLB Draft got underway last Sunday. Vols ace Liam Doyle had been projected by some experts to go to the Angels with the second overall pick of the draft.

That didn't happen, with Doyle going to the St. Louis Cardinals with the fifth pick. But another former Vol did end up hearing his name called by the Angels, and it's someone that Christian Moore knows well.

The Angels took reliever Nate Snead with the 105th pick in the third round and the last of the day on Sunday.

In response, Moore posted a message to his Tennessee teammate in Instagram.

"Yo, Snead, what's up, bro?" Moore said. "I just wanted to congratulate you on being selected by the Angels. It's a huge accomplishment, and I'm super proud of you, dude. You've come such a long way. I got to play with you for two years in college in Tennessee, and you've come such a long way. I'm super proud of you. Tell your family I said hello. I know they're also very excited and also proud of you as well. Again, congrats, brother, and I'll see you soon."

Snead and Moore played together in Knoxville in 2024, with both contributing in the College World Series to help Tennessee win their first ever national championship last year.

Now, Snead will begin the journey of trying to share a clubhouse with his old teammate again, as well as another former Vol in Ben Joyce.  The Angels are a team that promotes their young talent quickly, so we'll see if Snead can find his way to Southern California sooner than later.
