Cincinnati Reds Minor Leaguer Wins Pitcher of the Week

Louisville Bats pitcher Adam Plutko has been named the International League Pitcher of the Week for the week of September 2-7. Plutko tossed seven shutout innings for the Louisville Bats, with seven strikeouts.

On the season, the right-hander is 8-7 with a 4.25 ERA in 19 starts across 91 innings. The 33-year-old veteran pitched four seasons for Cleveland from 2016-2020 and last pitched for the Baltimore Orioles in 2021. He pitched in Korea from 2022 to 2023 and would go 26-8 with a 2.40 ERA in that time.

The Reds signed Plutko to a minor league deal back in April.

Reds manager Terry Francona managed the Guardians when Plutko was in Cleveland.

Alfredo Duno has been named Florida State League Player of the Week, and Adam Plutko has been named International League Pitcher of the Week!

Duno slashed .462/ .556/ 1.154 with an OPS of 1.709 this past week for the @daytonatortugas.
