Cody Bellinger Praises Aaron Boone As Fan Frustration Grows

The New York Yankees are one loss in the American League Division Series away from elimination, and fans online are calling for the team to move on from Aaron Boone.

Since Boone took over, the Yankees have only been to one World Series and have lost the American League Championship Series twice. The Yankees spend a ton of money, and the expectation that comes with the uniform is a World Series, year in and year out. Whether that is fair or not is another story, but it does not change the fact that the Yankees have underachieved under Boone despite having great teams every season.

Before Wednesday's do-or-die game, Cody Bellinger sang praises of his manager.

"Boone is a great guy to play for," Bellinger told reporters before the game. "I've played for four really good managers, in my opinion, and my transition over here was smooth. It's all about winning here. When you put on this logo, it's all about winning. We understand what comes with the logo, what comes with the history. He helps present that."

Bellinger thinks Boone has done a great job setting the expectations for what it means to be a Yankee. However, the team has failed to meet those expectations, and fans have a right to be upset.

Boone has one more year on his deal, and he will reportedly not be fired regardless of this year's outcome. In his defense, he did manage most of this season without Aaron Judge, which certainly made a huge impact. A healthy Judge could have drastically changed the outlook of this season.
