Colorado Rockies Continue Miserable 2025 Season
Imagn Images

The Colorado Rockies lost 2-0 to the Philadelphia Phillies to cap off the worst start in league history. They are 8-42 this season which is the worst 50-game start in modern MLB history. Colorado is also on pace to lose a whopping 136 games this season. That would surpass the 1899 Cleveland Spiders (20-134) for the most losses by an MLB team ever. Last season, the Chicago White Sox set the record for most losses(121) in the modern era. Will the 2025 Colorado Rockies make history for all the wrong reasons?

Colorado Rockies Season Summary

Colorado has the league’s worst record by 7 games. The Rockies have been putrid on offense this year. They are 28th in batting average, 26th in home runs, and 29th in runs scored. Catcher Hunter Goodman has been the team’s best offensive performer. He is hitting .282 this season with 7 home runs and 31 RBI.

The Rockies have also struggled on the mound. They are 30th in team ERA, 30th in opposing batting average, and 30th in WHIP. Colorado has been a terrible ballclub, but their pitching staff has been especially poor in 2025.

Final Thoughts

Colorado may not get in the win column this weekend as they welcome the New York Yankees to town for a three-game series beginning tonight. It is a lost season for the Colorado Rockies. They must now show professional pride to not go down as the worst team in MLB history.
