After only one start at Triple-A Albuquerque, the Colorado Rockies had seen enough with their No. 1 prospect.

The team announced Friday that right-handed flamethrower Chase DollanderMLB Pipeline's No. 24 prospect - will be joining the big league club.

The 23-year old was informed by his Isotopes coaches. A video posted to 'X' by the Rockies social media team revealed the moment he found out.

"I don't know if those are really the best... if that's really going to get you prepared to face these guys," pitching coach Chris Michalak said, referring to a pitching strategy Dollander had shown him for an upcoming Isotopes game.

"Why is it not?," Dollander replied, looking a little confused.

"Probably because you're not going to face these guys." Michalak said.

After a short pause, a voice from off camera utters "You're going to go to Denver," to which the former Tennessee Volunteers standout breathed a sigh of relief.

Dollander, the No. 9 overall pick in the 2023 Draft, was dominant last season across two levels of minor league ball. In 118 innings over 23 starts, he registered 169 strikeouts and a 1.19 WHIP.

He didn't fare as well this spring, surrendering 14 runs in 17 and 2/3 innings pitched for a 7.13 ERA. Dollander did punch out 24 batters however, which tied for the team lead with Kyle Freeland.

In his lone start for Triple-A Albuquerque last Sunday, he gave up six hits and a run, while striking out five in four innings pitched.

This Sunday, he'll make his major league debut when the Rockies host the Athletics.
