It’s the worst-case scenario for the Arizona D-Backs as Justin Martinez will be out for the rest of the 2025 season and beyond.

The nightmare of injuries for this D-Backs team continues as Justin Martinez will be out for an estimated 12 to 13 months. Martinez sustained an injury against the Seattle Mariners this past Monday, after looking lights out. He immediately signaled to the trainers immediately once he knew something was wrong.
“It could be 12 months. It could be 13 months.”

Justin Martinez not only has been one of the most promising pitchers for this entire franchise, he was a guy who the Snakes were projecting to rely on. Martinez so far on the 2025 season has a 4.11 ERA and five saves in 15.1 innings pitched with 22 strikeouts.
The D-Backs will now try to get back on track as they just lost newly signed star pitcher Corbin Burnes to Tommy John surgery, and that’s just the start of it. Arizona will need to assess if they want to proceed with being buyers or sellers depending on how this month of June goes. The injury bug bit, and it bit hard. The Snakes will now take on the Padres tonight at Chase Field with the first pitch at 6:40 p.m PT
