D-backs seek to stack wins starting in Atlanta on Tuesday

Arizona has arrived in Atlanta to get ready for a three-game series at Truist Park as the D-Backs will look to put the past behind them and focus on the Braves.

The D-Backs have lost eight of their last 10 games and need to drastically change things around as they are now 7.5 games out of the NL West division lead.

Tuesday’s pitching matchups:

The D-Backs will be hoping Zac Gallen can look like the pitcher he was a couple of years ago, as in 2025 he has struggled mightily with his command and keeping teams in check. Gallen has allowed four or more runs in each of his last four starts and has a 5.54 ERA on top of that. Arizona is hoping that he can find a resurgence, and Gallen sure is too, as he is in a contract year.

Spencer Strider will be on the mound today for Atlanta. The Braves haven’t won yet in 2025 when Strider starts. Strider has a lackluster 4.50 ERA with an 0-3 record. Arizona will look to capitalize on his inconsistency as he has yet to pitch more than 5.0 innings in his last three outings.

Looking forward in Atlanta:

Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte will be starting it off on Tuesday, and Gabriel Moreno will be behind the plate for Zac Gallen. It is known that Gallen usually likes to throw while Jose Herrera is out there, so this may be a shake-up to help Gallen get back on track.

The Braves and D-Backs are in similar spots, Atlanta has lost seven of their last 10 games as well and has dropped three series in a row. If the D-Backs can focus on taking advantage of a struggling Braves ball club, this could be the exact remedy to get them back on track this season.
