RENO – A top prospect for the Arizona D-Backs is turning heads and making waves in Triple-A Reno as Adrian Del Castillo is somebody to be excited about.
It must be a good feeling for the D-Backs knowing that their prospects are performing at a high level. Adrian Del Castillo has been one of the key pieces for the Reno Aces this season. So far in 2025, Del Castillo has been lighting it up with a .319 batting average along with four home runs after coming back from a shoulder injury.

The young catcher’s diagnosis was a strained right shoulder earlier this season back in spring training. Del Castillo made all 13 of his rehab appearances and was on his way back in style as he has just been taking over in Reno. If Del Castillo can keep up his consistency, he might find himself getting called up to the D-Backs sooner rather than later.

Del Castillo seemingly will be in a non-defensive roll, and will most likely be in the designated hitter spot until he can resume duties behind home plate. Recently, Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Gabriel Moreno encountered a hand injury after a ball in the dirt caught the top of his hand. If anything were to take Moreno out for a longer period, Del Castillo, if healthy, would be the obvious choice to call up for the Snakes.
