The rookie center fielder put on another show in the Oakland Athletics’ 11–2 victory over the San Francisco Giants, crushing a towering 471-foot home run in the 7th inning that left the stadium buzzing. It was the longest homer of the night and arguably of his young career so far. Clarke provided his own fireworks on his first MLB game on the 4th of July.

Clark didn’t stop there he also ripped a triple earlier in the game, showcasing his speed and gap power. And defensively, he added to his growing highlight reel with yet another sensational catch in center field, a now common occurrence for the athletic outfielder.

With power, speed, and elite defense, Clark is proving game by game that he’s not just a future star. He’s already one of the most electrifying players on the field. Clarke is still trying to find more consistency at the plate at he’s currently batting at .200. His batting average rose from .189 the previous game. Once the rookie centerfielder finds his grove at the plate. Things will become very uncomfortable for pitcher throughout the league.
Sears allowed just three hits, issued two walks, and struck out six batters, keeping San Francisco off balance all night. The strong performance earned him the win and evened his record at 7–7 on the season.
With plenty of run support from the red-hot A’s lineup. Sears didn’t have to be perfect, but he nearly was. His sharp command and poise on the mound set the tone early and gave Oakland full control of the game.
