The Detroit Tigers will face the Pittsburgh Pirates in a doubleheader today after rain postponed yesterday’s game. The Tigers won the first game of the series 7-3. Tarik Skubal will start game one for the Tigers, while they have not yet announced a starter for the second game. In all likelihood, it’ll be an opener with Keider Montero being the bulk guy. The Tigers expanded their roster to 27 for today’s doubleheader and called up right-handed pitcher Dylan Smith to fill the extra spot. Smith has made two appearances for the Tigers this season, going three innings, giving up two runs on four hits. He walked two and didn’t record a strikeout. Smith pitched in 18 minor league games this season, splitting time between Double-A Erie and Triple-A Toledo. He is 1-1 with a 2.45 ERA, a 0.86 WHIP, and 37 strikeouts in 25.2 innings.
