Detroit Tigers Starting Pitcher Jack Flaherty had a great start this afternoon at home against the Chicago Cubs. He tossed 6 scoreless innings and tied his season-high with 9 strikeouts. His great outing helped the Tigers prevail 4-0. Flaherty shut down one of the most potent offenses in the league. It has been a decent season for the veteran starting pitcher. He is 5-6 with a 3.41 ERA. He is also 12th in the league in strikeouts. How will he pitch the next time he takes the rubber?

Flaherty made his MLB debut with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2017. He spent parts of his first seven seasons with the Cardinals. His career has also included stints with the Baltimore Orioles, Detroit Tigers, and Los Angeles Dodgers. The veteran pitcher was dealt to the Dodgers from the Tigers at the 2024 MLB Trade Deadline. After helping Los Angeles win the 2024 World Series, he returned to Detroit. He signed a two-year $35 million contract with the Detroit Tigers in February 2025.
Flaherty’s next scheduled start is on June 14 at home against the Cincinnati Reds. Detroit has the best record in the league. If the veteran can continue pitching well, a deep postseason run could be in Detroit’s future.
