PHOENIX — Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll has been named as a finalist for the 2025 Rawlings Gold Glove Award on Wednesday, highlighting his growth in a position he struggled with during his previous two seasons.

Carroll, finishing up his third year in the majors, is looking to add more hardware to his young career two years after winning the National League Rookie of the Year in 2023. Known for his speed and power at the plate, the 25-year-old has worked on his defense and has seen it flourish this past season.

While offense has been making the most headlines, becoming the first Diamondbacks player to achieve a 30-home run and 30-stolen base season, Carroll’s defense has quietly made him an all-around player.

Carroll committed just one error in 1,189.1 innings this season, posting a .977 fielding percentage. He led all NL right fielders in Outs Above Average (OAA) with +9 and tied for third in Defensive Runs Saved (DRS) with +7.

The mix of speed and ability to read a play has positioned Carroll as one of the NL’s most developed outfielders. Nominated alongside former Gold Glove recipients and some of the game’s most respected defenders, Carroll continues to improve and adapt, proving his extraordinary rookie season was no fluke.

The nomination has also resonated with D-Backs fans, many of whom have followed Carroll’s journey from the draft to the major leagues.

Whether he wins the award or not, Carroll continues to prove why he’s the Diamondbacks’ cornerstone and will continue to lead the team to more success in future seasons, not only with his bat but also with his glove.

The Golden Glove Award winners will be announced on Sunday, Nov. 2, on ESPN.
