Diamondbacks’ Corbin Carroll astoundingly snubbed in MLB Network’s hitter power rankings

In a head-scratching post, MLB Network has released their top 10 hitter power rankings, with the Diamondbacks’ Corbin Carroll nowhere to be found.

How does that old Rodney Dangerfield quote go again? Oh yeah, “I don’t get no respect.” Corbin Carroll can share that same sentiment, as MLB Network seemingly left him off of their top 10 hitter power rankings.

Maybe it’s the MLB promoting the narrative of players on big market teams have more of an appeal, though if we are talking numbers, Carroll’s stats don’t lie. Not only is he contending with some of these big names, but he seemingly is having a better start to the season in 2025 so far.

Corbin Carroll’s power at the plate:

If we are talking strictly power, Carroll has 14 home runs on the season, just one behind the likes of Aaron Judge and Kyle Schwarber. Carroll, who is 5’10 and 170 pounds, is lighting it up alongside these power hitters, and is doing so without having a 6’7 and 282 pound stature. Just this last series in San Francisco, Carroll had an highlight moment where he hit not one, but two home runs on Monday off of future hall-of-famer Justin Verlander and the San Francisco Giants. On that list, fellow Diamondback Eugenio Suárez is sitting right next to him with 13 home runs, Suárez was left off of the power rankings as well.

Focusing on the future:

This D-Backs team isn’t concerned when lists like these come out, although it is a welcome sight to see so many disagree with his absence off of their rankings. Carroll has a long and what seems to be legendary career ahead of him, and sooner or later people will start to have to start noticing and respecting his body of work along the way. His next chance to add to his home run total will be this weekend as Arizona gets ready to host the Rockies in a three-game series over at Chase Field.
