Dodgers fans have completely turned on Kyle Tucker

Kyle Tucker hasn’t hit rock bottom quite yet in his first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, but he’ll be well on his way if this keeps up. Tucker was supposed to elevate the Dodgers’ offense from strong to downright unstoppable, but it’s too bad that he hasn’t figured out yet how to hit in Dodger Stadium.

One saving grace for Tucker is that, despite his subpar .700 OPS and poor defense on the season, he’s performed well for the Dodgers on the road. He entered play on Monday against the Colorado Rockies with an OPS of .840 away from Dodger Stadium — which is more in line with his typical level of performance.

But not even a game in Coors Field can rescue Tucker from the slump he’s in at the moment. One plate appearance stood out in particular for Dodgers fans. In the third inning, Tucker worked a 3-0 count, and the broadcast crew was almost urging him to just keep on taking pitches and draw the walk. Instead, Tucker swung on a high fastball and popped it up to shallow center field.

Fans were bewildered to see Tucker swing at that especially when he hasn’t been performing well in August. He has an OPS of .686 this month, but his play has fallen off a cliff over the past week or so. He hasn’t delivered a base hit since the 10th of August, and that dry spell continued on Monday as he went 0-3 against the Rockies.

Dodgers fans are clearly reaching their tipping point with Tucker, as evidenced by their reactions on X.

“No way on Gods green earth should Tucker be swinging 3-0 while he is hitting like s**t,” X user @TheGreggJeffrey wrote.

“Glue his a** to the bench for a week,” @DarthVoita added.

“I might start a go fund me just to get Kyle Tucker DFA’d,” @yukari042209 furthered.
