The MLB community is keeping Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Miguel Rojas in its thoughts this Wednesday.
Rojas, a two-time World Series champion, was a late scratch from the Dodgers' lineup earlier this week due to a family matter. He sadly revealed on Wednesday that his father has passed away suddenly
"With immense sorrow on behalf of the entire Rojas family, I must share with all those who had the privilege of knowing and spending time with my father, Miguel Rojas - known as 'Micky' - that he passed away suddenly yesterday afternoon, April 7th," he wrote on his Instagram Story. "I wish to offer my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has reached out to me and my family to express their affection and let us know just how deeply loved my father was throughout his life. May God welcome him into His glory, and may he rest in peace."
The Dodgers are set to play the Toronto Blue Jays this Wednesday night. Rojas isn't expected to suit up for that game.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters that Rojas may leave the club briefly to spend time with his family.
Though it's not much of a surprise Dodgers fans wasted no time showing their support for the Rojas family this Wednesday.
"Sending all love to the Rojas family and friends," one fan commented.
"This is so sad," a Dodgers fan wrote on X. "Sending my deepest condolences Miguel and his family during this tough time. May God send them strength and comfort. We love you Miguel. Take all the time you need man. We got you back brro!"
"Prayers up for Rojas and his family," another Dodgers fan said.
We're wishing Rojas all the best as he navigates through this difficult time.
