The Los Angeles Dodgers got ahead of the trade deadline by acquiring Tarik Skubal on Sunday, but that has been followed by more activity.
According to Jorge Castillo of ESPN , the Dodgers’ latest move is acquiring Hunter Feduccia from the Tampa Bay Rays. It comes on the heels of the Dodgers already reuniting with Ben Rortvedt , and trading for Kris Bubic in a deal that sent Minor League pitcher Carlos Duran to the Kansas City Royals.

The Dodgers are trading Jack Suwinski and international bonus pool money to the Rays in exchange for Feduccia and prospect Jacob Kmatz.

Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman suggested more trades were to come after the team added Skubal, but he indicated those likely would not impact the Major League roster.
However, with the team beginning their road trip on Monday, Dalton Rushing is dealing with an arm injury. Chuckie Robinson is a candidate to get added onto the roster before the series opener at Wrigley Field, but he seemingly could be quickly replaced by Feduccia or Rortvedt.
The trade represents Feduccia’s return to the Dodgers organization after they drafted him in the 12th round of the 2008 MLB Draft. Feduccia made his MLB debut in 2024 and also played in two games last year prior to getting traded to the Rays at the deadline.
Feduccia has hit .234/.306/.340 with seven doubles, two home runs and 12 RBI over 60 games thus far in 2026.
Meanwhile, Kmatz is a relief pitcher who had been with the Rays’ Double-A Montgomery affiliate since early June. He features a plus-fastball and slider, and excellent curveball.
One potential obstacle that could emerge with the 23-year-old down the line is he will need to be added to the Dodgers’ 40-man roster this offseason if they wish to protect against the possibility of Kmatz getting selected in the Rule 5 Draft.
By trading Suwinski the Dodgers open up a roster spot with Triple-A Oklahoma City. Addressing their logjam of outfield prospects was an area Friedman acknowledged needed to take place either at the trade deadline or this offseason.
Now the Dodgers have freed up space to promote Josue De Paula or Mike Sirota from Double-A Tulsa.
Suwinski joined the Dodgers organization when they claimed him off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates in February.
