Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Tuesday that five-time All-Star outfielder Mookie Betts was "very" likely headed to the injured list after Betts was scratched ahead of a 5-0 win at the Philadelphia Phillies with a sore right hip.
Roberts confirmed Betts' status on the IL ahead of Wednesday's outing in Philadelphia and added that right-handed relief pitcher Edwin Uceta will rejoin the active roster:
Roberts said Mookie Betts will be going on the IL and Edwin Uceta will be recalled. Betts will fly back to LA this evening and meet with doctors tomorrow: "We’re going to have some more experts chime in to try to figure this thing out.”

Roberts had previously stated that Betts probably wouldn't be available through at least the Philadelphia series. The hope now is that the 28-year-old will be able to wait until the offseason to undergo surgery to address the matter.
Betts hits the IL slashing .277/.378/.521 with 17 home runs and 44 RBI across 87 games this season. Meanwhile, the Dodgers begin Wednesday's action at 68-45 and in second place in the National League West division standings, four games back of the first-place San Francisco Giants.
