Dodgers vs Cardinals: The Los Angeles Dodgers begin a six-day road trip with a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals. Game 1 starts on Friday evening at Busch Stadium.

Los Angeles is going through a barren run after losing three of their last four series . They went down at home to the Miami Marlins this week despite taking the opening encounter. Still, the Dodgers hold top spot in the National League West with a 20-11 record.

St. Louis comes into this series riding a four-game winning streak. They swept the Pittsburgh Pirates on the road after wiping out their four-game losing run. The Cardinals have a highly impressive 18-13 record, but still trail the top spot in the NL Central by two games.

Dodgers vs. Cardinals Game 1: Expected Pitching Match-up

Emmet Sheehan will be on the mound for the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1. The 26-year-old posted his first quality start of the year in his previous outing last week. He logged 26.1 innings over five appearances, posting a 2-0 record with a 4.78 ERA and 28 strikeouts.

Matthew Liberatore is the starting pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday. The 26-year-old lefty is not having much impact on the mound, but he is providing decent length for his team. He has 30.0 innings in five starts thus far with a 4.75 ERA and 1.549 WHIP.
