Toronto Blue Jays infielder Ernie Clement will be the centerpiece of a bobblehead giveaway in his hometown this summer at a Rochester Red Wings game.
The Washington Nationals Triple-A affiliate will hand out an Ernie Clement bobblehead to the first 1,000 fans on July 28 at ESL Ballpark. The ballpark is just over 10 minutes away from Brighton High School, where Clement graduated in 2014.
Clement is hitting .293 with seven home runs, 28 RBIs and a .753 OPS in 76 games in 2026. The Blue Jays infielder has been central to the team's climb towards above .500 ball, as he leads the American League in doubles with 20, as well as his utility to play all over the field, giving manager John Schneider much-needed versatility in a season where many players have headed to the injured list.
Toronto started the season slowly but has seen a brighter future as players like Alejandro Kirk, Shane Bieber and Max Scherzer are returning to the team after time on the IL. The Blue Jays hold a record of 39-40 for third place in the AL East, behind the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays.
Clement has grown into a fan favorite in Toronto since signing with the Blue Jays on a minor league deal in 2023, especially for his stellar performance in the 2025 postseason. His performance has even put him among the best, as he currently leads the AL with 2,054,130 All-Star votes, the second-highest total behind Shohei Ohtani.
Clement will easily lock up a starting spot at the All-Star Game in Philadelphia on July 14. Two weeks later, the Rochester native gets a night of his own back home.
