Former Red Sox World Series Champion Predicted to Replace Braves' Brian Snitker

It's been an interesting past few days for the Boston Red Sox, with the team deciding to move on from Rafael Devers. Whatever the reason might be, the Red Sox decided to do it, and there's no looking back now.

However, this could have an impact throughout the rest of the organization.

Skipper Alex Cora can't be too happy with this decision, and with how the Red Sox have played this year, perhaps both sides grow frustrated with each other over the fall and winter.

It wouldn't be surprising to see Cora eventually get canned by the Red Sox.

He still has multiple years left on his contract, having signed an extension during the offseason, meaning it'll be very unlikely to see them cut ties with him now. The offseason, however, is a different scenario.

For other teams around Major League Baseball, that might not be the case, including the Atlanta Braves. Brian Snitker, who some have speculated could be out of a job this winter, whether he decides to call it quits or because the Braves no longer want him, might have to be replaced. Eric Cole recently explored a few potential options and identified former Red Sox veteran David Ross.

"David Ross checks a lot of boxes," wrote Cole. "He is an extremely respected former player, seemed beloved by his players when he was manager before getting unceremoniously dumped by the Cubs, and it seems like he would be a blend of old school as well as a guy that would use analytics. On top of that, he doesn't have a coaching job currently and played for the organization for four seasons. Ross does have three kids and he may not be itching to get back on the road again as a result, but the Braves should at least give him a call."

Ross played for the Red Sox during the 2008 campaign for eight games. He then rejoined the team in 2013 and 2014, appearing in just 86 games over those two seasons.
