Christian Moore proved in 2024 that he's a special player on the baseball field. Now, he'll get a chance to show he can produce at the sport's highest level.
Former Tennessee Vols infielder Christian Moore is getting called up from triple-A to the Los Angeles Angels, per multiple outlets.

Moore took another big leap not long ago, moving from the Angels' AA affiliate Rocket City Trash Pandas to AAA Salt Lake Bees. That move didn't prove to be all that difficult of one for him. In fact, he's taken his game to another level at the highest level of the minor leagues. After hitting .234 in 34 games at AA, he's exploded for a .350 average in 20 games at the AAA level with 4 home runs and 18 RBIs.

On Wednesday, the Angels' top prospect went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs, bringing his line to .350/.424/.575 in 20 games.

Moore's bat has always been more of his calling card, and it's gotten hot at the right time. While Angels have been successful with the long ball (96; 4th in MLB), they're near the bottom in batting average (.227; T-27th), on base percentage (.289; 29th), and doubles (92; T-26th). Moore should have the chance to come in and help out at the plate immediately.
The Angels took Moore with the 8th pick of the Major League Baseball draft last July, and like other top prospects before him, the organization didn't waste much time getting him up to the big leagues. Now, with Ben Joyce (who is currently out recovering from a shoulder injury) also on the roster, Vol fans will have a reason to keep on eye on the late-night games going on out in Anaheim for, hopefully, years to come.
