The Los Angeles Dodgers are in a position to do something that MLB has never seen, which is win three straight championships in a row. They are once again the favorites to win this year, but this could be the final run for some of their veteran players. Everyone talks about a championship window, but Freddie Freeman is hoping the Dodgers keep it alive as long as they can.

“This window, we are going to try and keep open as long as we possibly can,” Freeman said via Katie Woo of The Athletic. “But sports are sports; you never know when those windows will close.”

There are several players on the team that know they could ride into the sunset in the coming years, and this third championship could mean a lot.

“I don’t have that many years left of playing, so you take a step back and realize how special it is to come to the field every day for the chance to win a championship every year,” Freeman said. “You look around, you’ve been with certain guys for those multiple titles, and you do realize that.”

The Dodgers have loaded up on talent throughout the years, which is why they always find themselves at the top of the league every season. At the same time, players such as Freeman, Mookie Betts, Miguel Rojas, Will Smith, Max Muncy and Kiké Hernández all have families.

“Like, we’re 30-plus,” Betts said. “Half of us ain’t even playing three more years, you know? As hard as it is, as hard as the game is becoming, with all the changes I’m sure that are about to come, stuff like this just doesn’t come around.”

All eyes will be on the Dodgers to see if they can get the job done, and their journey starts in a few days.
