There will be no thrusting celebration on the field for San Francisco Giants outfielder Harrison Bader for a while.

Bader, who is on the injured list with plantar fasciitis and has not played since late May, may have to wait even longer for him to return to action after a detail emerged that he hurt his injured left foot further while riding a scooter over the weekend, according to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area.

“The update on Harrison Bader is a bizarre one. He went to see a specialist for his plantar fasciitis, but the Giants announced that he had a scooter accident ‘on Saturday night/early Sunday morning’ and further injured that left foot. He will now get an MRI for the new injury,” Pavlovic shared via a social media post on X, formerly Twitter.

San Francisco manager Tony Vitello also sounded off on Bader’s unfortunate scooter accident.

“Reached out to him, asked him if he was OK. Obviously he’s not better than he was prior to that,” Vitello said, via Shayna Rubin of The San Francisco Chronicle.

“It’s going to delay the recovery process for him, but even prior to it, you’re looking at a pretty frustrating long runway.”

This is not good news for Bader or the Giants, as this only adds even more headaches to the team’s already problematic 2026 MLB campaign. San Francisco started Tuesday several games under .500 with a 45-61 record — over 20 games off the top of the National League West standings.

Bader was not doing well indivudally, either, even before his injury. On the season, he is hitting just 170/.198/.358 with five home runs and 14 RBIs through 30 games.
