Jacob Misiorowski reached 100 strikeouts before Shohei Ohtani and Paul Skenes this season, giving the Milwaukee Brewers one of MLB’s biggest early pitching stories.

This is not just about a young arm piling up empty strikeouts. Misiorowski is missing bats at a rate even baseball’s biggest names have not matched yet.

It is why his season already feels different. The Brewers are not just watching potential anymore; they are watching a starter force his way into the game’s top tier.

Jacob Misiorowski has turned the Milwaukee Brewers’ strikeout chase into his own race

In a recent MLB post, the league highlighted Misiorowski’s latest double-digit strikeout game and his move to the top of the 2026 leaderboard.

“After another double-digit strikeout performance, Jacob Misiorowski is the first pitcher to reach 100 Ks this season!” the MLB revealed.

That is a serious early marker because he reached the number in just 11 starts. His latest outing against the St. Louis Cardinals included 12 strikeouts over seven innings, with only one earned run allowed.

The strikeouts are not coming from deception alone. Misiorowski is overwhelming hitters with velocity that few starters can carry deep into games.

He threw 57 pitches at 100 mph or harder in that start, setting a new pitch-tracking era record. That kind of power turns every count into a problem for opposing lineups.

Jacob Misiorowski has put Shohei Ohtani and Paul Skenes in chase mode

Misiorowski reached 100 strikeouts in 64 innings, while Skenes was listed at 65 strikeouts over 60 innings. Ohtani had 54 strikeouts in 49 innings, giving him strong efficiency without the same total volume.

That gap matters because both names carry huge weight. Skenes is already one of baseball’s dominant power arms, while Ohtani’s return to the mound gives the Dodgers another elite weapon.

Misiorowski still beat both to the first major strikeout checkpoint of the season. His 14.1 strikeouts per nine innings shows how aggressively he is separating from the field.

The fuller profile makes the feat even louder. Misiorowski reached the milestone with a 1.83 ERA, a 0.83 WHIP and an opponent batting average of .152.

That is why this is bigger than one viral number. Misiorowski is not just throwing hard, he is turning that power into ace-level production before some of the sport’s biggest arms can keep up.
