During MLB rivalry weekend, the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels met in Southern California. The Dodgers swept the series in dominating fashion, outscoring the Halos 31-3 in three games.
While that series was going on, Angels outfielder Jo Adell joined Mookie Betts’ podcast. Betts asked Adell what Mike Trout has meant to the 2026 team.

“For a guy like him, he is a very follow-my-lead and watch as I go,” Adell said. “It’s important for me to guide that and be like ‘hey, if you want to know what it takes, watch that guy…’ be a fly on the wall and see what it takes. This guy has swung the same bat since he was 16 years old, the same swing, the same routine. We want to make sure we promote that, and that is what we get.”
It is unfortunate that the Angels have been unable to get Trout a playoff win, let alone a World Series title in his career. Trout remains an influential player in this game, and one day he will have an opportunity to make a postseason run. There is no doubt that he wants it to be a part of the Angels organization, but the ballclub has failed him to this point.
The Angels own the worst record in the American League right now, and it could stay that way for the entire season. There have been many reasons that have led to the early-season frustrations . Even Mike Trout playing like an MVP isn’t enough to change the course of this team.
