Arizona Diamondbacks star Ketel Marte is going through another difficult personal chapter. On Thursday, police reports informed that his home in Scottsdale was burglarized while he was representing the National League during the 2025 All-Star Game in Atlanta.

In a “high-dollar residential burglary” dubbed by the police, several personal items and jewelry were stolen by the thieves. According to reports from the Associated Press, there were signs of forced entry into the house. Nobody was present at that house when the incident took place.

Unfortunately, Marte is not the first big-name athlete who has been robbed in the past by years. Last year, Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce found their homes to be robbed. Los Angeles Lakers’ Luka Doncic also found himself being robbed of around $30,000 worth of jewelry.

On Tuesday, the day when the robbery took place, Marte was part of the 2025 All-Star Game. The Diamondbacks star would open the scoring for his team in the first inning after Shohei Ohtani and Ronald Acuna Jr. found themselves in scoring position.

Marte would hit a drive down the right field line, which allowed both Ohtani and Acuna Jr. to come home and score. His shot would give the National League a 2-0 lead.

The National League would take a 6-0 lead later on but saw their counterparts, the American League, erase that deficit and force a first-ever swing-off contest. While Marte did not take part in this swing-off contest, his team walked away as the winners thanks to Kyle Schwarber.

Ketel Marte recently went through a horrific fan heckling incident

Since June, Ketel Marte has gone through some personal trauma. Before this robbery at his home in Scottsdale, the 31-year-old player went through a horrific fan heckling incident, which led to many people coming forward in support of him.

In a game against the Chicago White Sox at the Rate Field last month, Marte was seen suddenly breaking down in tears. It was later revealed that a fan made some improper comments regarding his late mother.

The D-backs star had opened the scoring for his team in this game with a solo home run in the first inning. His side would later build up a 4-1 lead and seemed to be on their way to a comfortable victory.

As the team was preparing a pitching change in the 7th inning, Marte was seen with tears in his eyes. His manager, Torey Lovullo, and teammate Geraldo Perdomo would try to console him as he was going through an emotional breakdown.

The fan would make some nasty comments regarding his late mother, Elpidia Valdez. She tragically lost her life in a car accident in 2017 in the Dominican Republic.

The fan was ejected from the game after his incident. The MLB would later hand out an indefinite ban to the fan from all MLB ballparks for their actions.

The White Sox, meanwhile, would share a message of support for Marte in the next game. As he took to the batter’s box, messages of “Baseball is Family” and “The White Sox community supports Ketel Marte” were shared on a board. On their X account, the team would share an image of him and drop a four-word reaction stating, “We’re with you, @ketel_marte4“.

Marte is once again having a terrific season with the bat for the Diamondbacks. He finished the 1st half of the season while batting at a .290 average and slamming 19 home runs with 40 RBI.

The D-backs, on the other hand, are 47-50 for the season. They will begin the 2nd half of the season with a 3-game home series against the St. Louis Cardinals and hope to extend their win streak on Friday night.
