Kyle Tucker's Agency Reportedly Reveals Extension Price for Cubs Star

Kyle Tucker, a 28-year-old star for the Chicago Cubs, is represented by Excel Sports Management. Excel has done an excellent job over the past few years getting their clients paid, and Tucker is expected to be the next one in line to land a hefty contract.

However, according to a report from Lance Brozdowski on the "Cubs Daily Podcast," somebody at Excel Sports Management noted that Tucker could only be looking for a $475 million deal over 10 years.

"I actually spoke to someone today at Excel Sports Management, which is Tucker's agency, and I made them give me an estimate for Tucker's eventual contract, whether in free agency or an in-season extension. And the number they gave was 10 years and $475 million.

"Sure, it's a biased source, within his agency. Of course, they're going to promote him. Absolutely. But I thought it was actually somewhat reasonable, and I think it's a good over-under for what he eventually will receive," Brozdowski said, per Bleacher Nation.

Now, it's questionable why Excel would mention a number to anybody, but this is a figure they could be looking for.

All indications point to Tucker getting more than this, but if $475 million is all he wants, there's no excuse for the Cubs not to have a deal done as soon as possible.

Tucker is well worth $475 million. It'd be a steal compared to some of the other contracts around Major League Baseball.

Calling a $475 million deal a steal might sound outrageous, but he's a top 10 player in Major League Baseball, who owns a career slash line of .276/.356/.521, and has an OPS+ of 141.

That number seems a bit unrealistic given the expectations around the league.
