Our first Look of the Day this week was an easy winner on Allen Lazard to go over his receptions prop, and we're looking to keep the winners rolling. Let's start a winning streak with our favorite prop for Wednesday's MLB slate.
Angels at Twins, 7:10 p.m. ET
The Los Angeles Angels are taking on the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday night, and we're looking for Ward to have a big day at the plate.
Ward has crushing right-handed pitching of late. The Angels outfielder is batting .386 with a 1.233 OPS and a 41.7 percent hard-hit rate against righties over the last two weeks. He also leads the team in hits (17), runs scored (11) and walks (six) over his last 13 games.
This is also a great matchup against Twins starter Zebby Matthews. The right-hander has given up 19 hits and 13 earned runs in his last 7.0 innings pitched. He also has a .323 batting average allowed, a 13.0 percent barrel rate and a 41.6 percent hard-hit rate this season.
Matthews is getting smoked because he throws his 4-seam fastball 45.6 percent of the time, which is music to Ward's ears. Ward has a .281 xBA, a .644 xERA and a 53.3 percent hard-hit rate against 4-seamers this year. He should clear this line in what projects to be a high-scoring game.
